Located next to Woden shopping centre serving fresh colourful food, specialising in dumplings and Chinese favourites. A shout out to the Vegetarian Fried Rice with Truffle oil and King Pao Chicken. Morks was one of the first restaurants to open on the Kingston foreshore. Relocating from an inner North suburb serving fresh contemporary Thai food. You cannot go past the Angel Prawns (pictured) and a bao. I think there would be a riot if they take these off the menu. Link to website https://www.morks.com.au/

Ottoman Restaurant serves up a combination of modern and traditional Turkish food. This stylish restaurant can be found in Barton an inner south suburb surrounded by gardens. While not inexpensive it is worthwhile saving for a special occasion. I find it hard to go past the char grilled veal with leek & potato skordalla and a also special mention to the Cowra lamb cutlets. Link to website https://www.ottomancuisine.com.au/

Filos Taverna + Bar is our local Greek restaurant, located inside the Hellenic Club at Woden. With an extensive menu covering all the Greek favourites plus wood fired pizza, this restaurant has something for everyone. My go to dishes include the Grilled Spatchcock and Saganaki. Lots of daily specials as well. Link to website https://www.hellenicclub.com.au/fillos

Akiba delivers quality East-Asian food to Canberra city centre. The restaurant has a vibrant serving fresh tasting food cooked over charcoal and woodfire and Dim Sum. I cannot go past the Kingfish sashimi, pork belly bun and beef short rib all three dishes are flavour sensations. Do yourself a favour and order the “Feed Me” menu along with a couple of cold Asahi beers. There is also an extensive Sake selection. Link to website https://www.akiba.com.au/

Looking for a quick meal while shopping in City? Would you prefer something nicer than a food court? Soi Noodle Bar dishes up a mix of modern Thai and Japanese food and is located street level of Civic shopping centre. Snack on some Endame while your wait for your own designed noodle dish or like me opt for a Pad See Ew. Soi Noodle Bar also serves ramen, curry and soups along with main dishes and bao.
