On Saturday, myself and three friends headed out of Canberra for an overnight stay in a little town called Jugiong. It is only 1.5 hours away from Canberra and there is free camping at the showground located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee river.
After setting up the tents we went for a walk along the river then headed over to the Sir George Hotel for an afternoon drink followed by a delicious dinner. The Hotel has been restored and is a great place for a meal and offers gorgeous accommodation with French linen sheets which sounds divine. Head to the website for further details https://www.sirgeorge.com.au/
In the morning we went for a walk around town followed by breakfast at the busy cafe, Long Track Pantry. We were home in time for lunch on Sunday having experienced a mini break with great company and a lot of laughs!
We are planning more escapes to local country towns, it was a lot of fun. Serena 😊
